Specification

The specification covers the device name, manufacturer, serial number and protocol version.

The protocol version is the communication protocol version of LINK or VIA. A lower version may limit some of the configuration features.

Firmware

When it comes to firmware, most enthusiasts care about the following:

• What kind of firmware is running?
• Which version is it?
• Is it up to date?
• How do I get the latest firmware?

Besides showing this information, LINK can point you straight to the latest firmware for your device.

Next to the version, LINK marks whether that firmware is the latest published release: a green "up to date" badge means it matches the release, an orange "update available" badge means a newer one has been published. The badge is only shown for keyboards running Marin Firmware.
